Books of the week!
This week I’m reading:
Like Pickle Juice on a Cookie by Julie Sternberg – a book recommended by my 9 year old. My favorite part of this book is the title so far- and the author’s explanation of what’s going on
something bad happened and it was
“As bad as pickle juice on a cookie”
An excellent read- and a good book to read as the summer draws near to end- as although I love the fall and the start of the new school year, it does still feel like “pickle juice on a cookie”

Class by Stephanie Land – such a powerful read on issues of class and the author’s experience of navigating higher education, issues of poverty, and the many layers of hurdles those experiencing poverty try to navigate when going to college. I love especially the author’s perspective of resistance.
